The little details of this story bothered me...
Football practice turned violent in Trona on Oct. 19, following an argument between two students, a 17-year-old white male and a 15-year-old black male. The white male was arrested on charges of battery with serious injury on Oct. 22 and was transported to the High Desert Juvenile Hall in Apple Valley. The case is being investigated as a racially motivated hate crime..
The argument reportedly involved the use of profanity and racial slurs, following football practice at Trona High School. As the tension heated up, the white male apparently challenged the black male to fight. The black male refused. The white male then reportedly hit the black male several times in the face and body before fellow classmates separated the two...
The assault resulted in the victim receiving serious injuries to his teeth, which had been knocked out of their sockets. He was transported by ambulance to Ridgecrest Regional Hospital for treatment for a head injury. He also received follow-up treatment by a local dentist...
Deputies also reported they found that the suspect had associated with a white supremacist group in Bakersfield over a year ago before attending Trona High School.
.Happily it only took a little over 3 days for police to arrest a kid who commited "serious injury" in front of his fellow classmates. Who was trying to solve this case? Matlock?
The problem with this article was that it was misreported. The moron of a journalist did not get her facts straight, nor did "Barny Fife" the so called deputy who took the report. The facts are that the black boy recieved a fat lip and was not seriously injured. The so called "white" boy whom the African American student had the altercation with is in fact of latin decent not white. He would have had to have been of true white race to belong to a white supremecist group. Furthermore the newspaper and journalist who first reported this story, printed a somewhat retraction. No one was seriouly injured and the other boy has not been charged with a hate crime. There are deaper issue here that do not center around race. The Sheriff who made the report has aledgedly withheld evidence that would show that the so called "white" boy was in fact protecting himself. Issues like this are sad when everyone has to scream racism. Neither student was white, and it was a disagreement between two boys after a football practice when adrenline was running high.
