I like the new Trent Reznor album. I probably check out his live show as well.
And I have a cool Trent Reznor story.
A few years ago, when I still lived in New Orleans, my ex-wife (the smart one) had a visit from her brother and one of his friends. They were both seniors in college and were having a week of debauchery before the realities of the real world came crashing down.
Well the friend was a big Nine Inch Nails fan. Since Trent lived in New Orleans, we decided to show them his funeral home turned house since my wife had recently been their for a Holloween party. (The advantages of an expensive liberal education!) (The house was recently sold, BTW). It was about 3AM.
We saw one of the lights on so we convinced the friend to knock on the door and invite Trent out drinking with us. (um, this was New Orleans.) Since the gate was locked the kid hesitantly pressed the intercom button. Trent answered. The kid babbled about what a big fan he was and if Trent wanted to come out drinking. Trent said he was tired but talked to the kid for almost 15 minutes about college, New Orleans and what the kid would do after he graduated. He completely made this kid's vacation. He talked about it for days and even used the story to get laid.
The next week I was in Tower records and picked up all of Trent's albums. He was a righteous guy that night.
